The MCubed team is thrilled to welcome you to the system! This page includes important information and resources for U-M Dearborn faculty about participation on MCubed projects.

Who is eligible to participate in MCubed? All tenure and tenure‐track faculty members at UM‐Dearborn with a 50% or greater appointment in a College will be eligible to redeem a token from their home department.
I am a faculty member at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. How do I participate? First, login to the MCubed website using your uniqname and Kerberos password. All U-M Dearborn faculty have been entered as users in the website with basic profile information. You are welcome to update your profile by clicking on your photo in the upper right corner of the website, then “my profile/projects.” At the top of the page, click the button “edit profile.” After making any changes, be sure to choose "save" at the bottom of the page.
Once you login to the website, you will be able to create a project, search for potential collaborators, or view existing projects.
How do I create a project? After logging into the MCubed website using your uniqname and Kerberos password, click the “create project” icon on the top of the page. From there, follow the instructions on the page to complete the required information for your project. Click “submit” and your project will be posted to the MCubed website! Note that the creator of the project becomes the "project owner" if a cube is later requested and formed, and the cube funding is housed in the project owner's home unit.
How many faculty tokens will be funded by Dearborn? Tokens are supported by ORSP-Dearborn and the individual colleges, as agreed upon with each of the deans from U-M Dearborn. ORSP Dearborn’s investment will cover 8 tokens (for classic cubes, worth $20K each) across each of Dearborn’s four colleges (2 per college). Accounting for the varying investments from the four colleges, we arrive at a total of 16 tokens to be funded.

What do U-M Dearborn faculty have to invest in order to participate in a cube? Individual faculty at Dearborn do not have to invest any of their own funds. The costs are covered by ORSP-Dearborn and the individual colleges.
What are the rules for cube formation? At least two different campus units must be represented on each cube (trio of faculty collaborators). Faculty from U-M Dearborn are mapped onto colleges/schools within the U-M Ann Arbor system. A cube can include three collaborators from the Ann Arbor campus, three collaborators from the Dearborn campus, or a mix of collaborators from both campuses. But there must be interdisciplinarity on each cube/trio: i.e., a cube could not include two engineering faculty members from Ann Arbor and one engineering faculty member from Dearborn.
