Modeling of Fuel Flow Dynamics in Gasoline Direct Injectors
The objective of this project is to model the dynamics of fuel flow in injectors used in Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. Compared to the traditional port fuel injection systems in IC engines, GDI provides major advantages such as increased fuel efficiency, higher power output, and lower emission levels.
The models created through this project will be combined with models of electromagnetic actuators and valve collision dynamics of solenoid based GDI injectors to gain a better understanding of the performance limitations of injectors.
