Short bio:

Research summary:

As a board-certified ophthalmologist and a glaucoma specialist, I have 10 years of experience caring for patients with ophthalmological conditions, with a focus on those with glaucoma. In addition to my clinical experience, as a health services researcher, I possess a unique set of skills that has enabled me to carry out important studies aimed at improving the quality of care and outcomes of patients with ophthalmological diseases and to help inform health policymaking regarding eye care in the United States. I have extensive experience working with a large health care claims data set which contains detailed records of over 14 million eye care recipients throughout the United States. Using this resource, my colleagues and I have performed analyses on topics such as the epidemiology of different ocular conditions, identification of novel risk factors associated with different ocular diseases, studies assessing utilization patterns and outcomes of patients with different ocular diseases, and analyses assessing racial disparities in caring for patients with different ocular conditions
