Emily is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Michigan. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Emily’s work to characterize the atmospheres of planets outside of our Solar System ("exoplanets"), through three-dimensional modeling of their atmospheric circulation patterns (winds and temperature structures). She is particularly interested in predicting observable signatures of various physical processes and in identifying new observational techniques that can be used to better constrain the atmospheric properties of these exotic worlds.
