I develop first-principles computational algorithms and employ high-performance computing resources to study the structural, electronic, and optical properties of solids, molecules, and nanostructures. I have worked on the microscopic energy loss mechanisms in nitride LEDs and lasers. My goal is to use first principles computational methods to understand, model, predict, and design the behavior of novel electronic, optoelectronic, photovoltaic, and thermoelectric materials.
