The goal of my research is to improve the safe prescribing, dispensing, and use of medications in outpatient healthcare settings. My approach uses data-driven techniques to identify patterns in data that highlight problems in the medication use process. I've quantified contributing factors of medication errors, types of errors, and how pharmacists recover from errors. I'm currently evaluating mis-prescribing of electronic prescriptions and evaluating strategies to improve prescribing and dispensing activities.
