Dr. Maddock's research focuses on understanding basic developmental questions in microbes using a variety of approaches including molecular genetics, biochemistry, cell biology and proteomics. Two major areas are under study: (1) To understand how non-ribosomal proteins function in ribosome assembly, and (2) how asymmetry is established and maintained in bacteria.
