Sigrid Anderson Cordell is the Librarian for History and American Culture, as well as the interim librarian for English Literature, at the University of Michigan’s Hatcher Graduate Library. She holds a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from the University of Virginia and was a Council on Library and Information Resources post-doctoral fellow at Princeton University Library in the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections. She has taught in the English department at the University of Virginia and in the Freshman Writing Program at Harvard University. Her book, Fictions of Dissent: Reclaiming Authority in Transatlantic Women’s Writing of the Late Nineteenth Century, was published by Pickering and Chatto in 2010. Her work has appeared in Victorian Literature and Culture, American Periodicals, Neo-Victorian Studies, and in portal: Libraries and the Academy.
