Dr. Koelling’s research interests include Heart Failure disease management, quality of care and patient education. He has studied targeted patient education interventions in hospitalized heart failure patients. He has also studied physician focused quality of care interventions at the University of Michigan through the BCBS Physician Group Practice Incentive Program, and statewide through the Guidelines Applied in Practice – Heart Failure initiative. Currently, Dr. Koelling is studying the effects of patient management strategies including remote monitoring tools, rapid assessment of causes of readmission, and assessment of patient opinions regarding evidence based interventions.
